Glad to see I haven't been deleted yet but I can't blame you if it still happens. I would rather see what others have to say, put my 2 cents worth if I think I can contribute with something worth putting in print. Read and learn if I don't. I'll be coming around more often now if you guys don't mind.

About 20 miles from San Angelo. Out in the boonies. Just me, the ol' lady and the guard dogs.

Out in the boonies is good.  Where I grew up, we were the only house on a white rock road.  In the summer, when we saw a cloud of dust comming over the hill, we knew someone was commin to see us.

Now days, when I go back to the farm I meet at least 20 cars.  Kinda pisses me off.  I STILL feel like it's kinda MY road.  Stupid, I know but, shit I grew up there.

Actually had hunters try to throw me off my OWN family land.  Faced down a Plano police officer sitting in a tree stand with a AR15 one day when he bitched me out for driving my car through the field.  He wanted to know who the fuck I thaught I was driivn a car by his hunting stand.  Told him I was the SOB that paid the taxes and owned the tree his stand was in!  Pisses me off!

I know how you feel. We bought an old church and the 5 acres it's on about 15 years ago and for the first few years all you could see at night was stars. I guess we had deer mentalities at that time. When we heard a car, truck or whatever going down the hiway it was just a bit of back ground noise but if it slowed down it had our complete attention. On new years and the 4th of July for fireworks me and the ol' lady would step out the  door and bust off 90 rounds each from our assault rifles and there was no one around to be offended.

The ranch next to us went belly up a few years back so the bank sold off the land in 5 acre lots. Now at night all you I can see is guard lights. Even tho I have a secure firing range on my property, if I bust one cap durring the day the neighbors call the Sheriff dept, (doesn't stop me from doing it). I guess that's progress but I sure as fuck don't have to like it.

If you aren't in the city limits, and if you are not firing toward the other property I don't think the Sherif has anything to say about it.  My son and a couple of his friends went down to our farm last year and were shooting turtles in the stock tank.  A neighbor over a mile away came down there and wanted to know who they were.  My son told him it was family land.  The neighbor started bitchin about the bulletts (222) coming near his house.  (They were firing into an earthen dam).  Christopher told him he was sorry and assured him they would be carefull.  Neighbor kept on bitchin till my son called me.  I basically told him to Fuck Off.  He was pissed but hasn't bothered them again.

I HATE when people that have been in the area a very short time think they can tell the Old Timers what to do!  Fuckin Newbys!:50cal:

Got that right. The DPS out here has come up with a new way of making you give them "probable cause". When your out on the hiway at night they will leaved their head lights on bright. When you flash your lights at them because you figure whoever is coming at you forgot their lights are on bright, they leave them on bright. When they decide you have flashed them one too many times, it gives them reason to pull you over because you are imparing their vision.

Last time I fell for that I ask him why he didn't dim his lights he said," Don't get smart with me boy". I turn 58 next month and this little piece of shit was around 23 - 24.

The reason the cops hassle me about busting caps out here is that they have to protect the owners of the new 5 acre "Ranchette's" from the crazy biker that lives in the old church.:50cal::gun:

Edited because I forgot to lock and load before I hit send.

I did something better. I put a sign up at the entrance of my property which says :

CAUTION !!!  FREE FIRE ZONE !!!

Now they call me before they come out. I think they'll give up sooner or later. Each time they come out I show them the same 25 ft. tall berm I had dozed up a few years back. With the price of gas as high as it is I figure pretty soon somebody is going to start bitching about the gas they are wasting on each trip.
